New Children’s Theatre Festival Set to SHINE in Glasgow
This June, the Citizens' Theatre is proud to present its very first festival celebrating the best in homegrown and international work for children and young people. Encompassing four specially selected shows from the Bank of Scotland Imaginative Festival as well as the Citizens' own production Liar, the festival is set to become a regular feature in the Glasgow venue's programme attracting families and children of all ages. This year the programme includes shows from Italy, Denmark, England and Scotland and covers everything from moonlit encounters between a wolf and a goat to a multi-sensory adventure as one man and his dog set out to save their forest. Strategic Marketing: Beyond the Toolbox
Strategic Marketing: Beyond the Toolbox is a new 5 day residential course from the TMA specifically designed for arts marketing professionals. The course will cover a range of topics, all of which are essential knowledge for the successful arts marketer. It will look at extending your marketing 'toolbox' with strategic approaches to pricing, new technology and public relations as well as developing management and influencing strategies to help make you and your role more effective. Acknowledging the specific issues faced by marketers in the arts. A number of bursaries are available for up to 72% of the total cost of course fees (those applying must be residents of and work in Scotland).

What's On: Six Characters in Search of an Author
Where: Citizens Theatre, Glasgow

A co-production with NTS and the Royal Lyceum, Luigi Pirandello’s story of six characters abandoned by their author who desperately need a writer to complete their story. Trapped inside a traumatic event from which they long to escape, only acting out the scenes that were written for them will release them. Arriving at the theatre, it falls to one unwitting director and his hapless band of actors to take on their quest, picking up their troubled family story. As the surreal rehearsals take place, guilty secrets begin to unfold. But one way or another, their tragic story must be told.

What's on: Dance on Screen
Where: CCA, Glasgow

CCA presents Dance on Screen, a new monthly film strand showcasing historical and contemporary dance works. An exciting line up of documentary, feature length and short dance films will tap into work by Scottish and international artists, as well as new commissions made for dance film festivals. Running on the last Thursday of every month, the programme will explore a wide range of themes, looking at the work of dancers and choreographers working in collaboration with renowned directors, musicians, fashion designers, and visual artists. Look out for guest speakers, Q&As, critical debate and post-screening receptions. Dance on Screen launches on Thursday 28 February, with a screening of Charles Atlas’ Hail the New Puritan, introduced by Gaby Agis, a pioneer of collaborative performance in Britain and a dancer in Atlas’ film. Complimentary drinks are available in the cafe bar after the screening.
